About BookJetty
BookJetty is a social utility that connects you with your friends' bookshelves and checks books' availability in the libraries. It was started off as my pet project to solve the problems that I had, to log books I wanted to read in a spreadsheet and to frequently check books' availability in the libraries.
For a start, BookJetty links up with only Singapore National Library Board. Now, it connects with more than 300 libraries worldwide from 11 different countries, i.e. US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hongkong, and more. The list still grows based on suggestions from librarians and BookJetty users.
As you and other BookJetty users shelve your books, the social trends of books shelved is a helpful indicator to discover even more great books, on top of book ratings and reviews. And you will be be suprised to find how fast your bookshelf piles up with books that you want to read.
In all, BookJetty helps to answer these common questions when you are looking for a book? Is it a good book? Is it available in the libraries? Do my friends have it? Is it available in the booktore, and how much it is? So, borrow if you want to, buy if you need to.
And as BookJetty evolves, I try to keep BookJetty simple and intuitive, so we can update tags, rate books, and perform other tasks with ease. It was designed to be easily extended to suppport other features in the future. Meanwhile, as I'm in need to save my favorite quotes, I'm going to add that feature soon. And I hope the problem I solve for myself solves your problem too. So, keep me informed of your problem, cause it's probably my problem too.
