Once I had a friend who drew me a trend in technology product life cycle that looks like a bell curve, ascending from the start, peak in the middle and descending after that. Interesting analysis I thought.

But what he didn't tell me was, it ain't always a smooth ride. There is usually a chasm between the early adopters, which are technologically literate and the adoption of the product by the mass market. Many companies made mistakes and didn't cross the chasm.

Geoffrey shared his experiences of working with hundreds of technology ventures in dealing with the chasm, he shares about the different stages in technology product life cycle, the charactertics of the different groups of people in each stage, what causes the chasm, the strategies to cross the chasm and in different stages of product life cycle.

Overall I think it's a book with lots of substance in it. (read less)
