Title: Matilda
Author: Roald Dahl

I like this book as it is interesting, thrilling, funny and a little magical.

Matilda is a young girl, who is like the 'odd one out' in her family. Her whole family enjoys watching television. Matilda's father, Mr. Wormwood, is a cheat who 'fixes' spoilt cars and sells them off at a really high price. When Matilda went to school, she realised her teacher had been 'tortured' by the principle, which was also her aunt. Matilda's teacher is poor and lives in a tiny house. She doesn't really eat much and doesn't really bathe. Matilda uses her power to lift things up to scare the principle and get her teacher her house and her money that her father left for her.

I recommend this book to everybody! It is great! I also recommend the movie. It is nice and funny.

Title: Matilda

Matilda is a clever girl since young. She is able to read and do Mathematics at the age of 6 years old. She has two parents who thinks that she is just an irritaing and silly little girl. The father does dirty work and cheats people with money using his job. The mother only knows how to sit at home and watch her "interesting" television programmes at home. With such a "bad" condition at home, Matilda hardly speaks at home. Her parents stops her from reading as they think that it does not help her own a living. Dealing with her parents, she has to play pranks on them to let them know their mistakes. However, it is not useful. Matilda is an incredible student in school, she is well-liked by her claasmates and teacher except her principal. Reflecting on this story, it helps me learn that we have pur own rights to do soemthing that we want to do but it mus be a proper and right thing to do. In our life, we will face many obstacles,so we must persevere and win out one and only enemy-- myself..

Give it a smile, persevere and face it ! :) (read less)

I think Matilda is a good role model because she is talented and smart. She started reading at the age of 2 and that did surprise me. I was also impressed that at the age of 5 or 6, Matilda could already do Algebra! I only learned algebra when I was 9. She is like an extraordinary child as she could tilt a cup without using her hands but with her eyes!

This story reflects on a girl, Matilda Wormwood being mistreated in her family. Her father is a crooked crook, making money by dealing second- hand cars and her mother is just plain stupid. Matilda entered school when she was five and a half, and meets her lovely teacher, Miss Honey and her horrible headmistress, Miss trunchbull. They think that Matilda should watch more TV and read lesser books! Read the book to find out how she got rid of her horrible parents and even more horrible headmistress.
