It's a big scope for one book, overall, it's good if you are new to both php and mysql, it's a good start, but I found it's lacking in covering the more intricate details about Classes, Objects, Frameworks and Reflection, I found the information provided by php.net documentation is more complete.
Anyway, at 900++ pages you can't squeeze more information in it, you probably want to get some sort of Advanced PHP book if you want more.
